The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has recently given $100,000 to local prosecutors in South Carolina's fifteenth judicial circuit to ensure that they can continue to provide specialized attention to cases involving allegations of criminal domestic violence.
Although South Carolina's latest budgets have continued to substantially decrease funding for the Court system as a whole, and also for indigent criminal defendants, the legislature has seen fit to continue specialized funding for CDV cases compared to other criminal charges.
